Brand Identity v1.0 Black Shark Apps 2026

01 · The Name

Three threads. One ancient word.

Solomeh is built on a Hebrew root that gave the world both wisdom and peace. The name carries them together.

שָׁלוֹם

Shalom

peace · wholeness

Shlomo

→ Solomon · masculine

"the peaceful one" · the wisest king

Shlomit

→ Salome · feminine

"the peaceful one" · the disciple who followed Jesus to the cross

Thread 01

Wisdom

From Solomon, author of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Song of Songs. Discernment, knowledge, depth.

Thread 02

Peace

From Shalom: completeness, integrity, rest. What devotion produces.

Thread 03

Faithfulness

From Salome, first at the tomb (Mark 16:1). Constancy. Showing up daily.

02 · Where We Stand

Daily spiritual practice, gamified.

Solomeh treats Bible study the way Duolingo treats languages: short journeys, real progression, habit that sticks. Never at the cost of spiritual depth. We're not the loudest app. We're the one you keep opening on day 200.

We are not...

Anti-positioning

Hallow

Reverent and contemplative, but monastic. Heavy. Catholic-coded. Solemn for the sake of solemnity.

We are warmer.

Anti-positioning

Duolingo

Gamification rigor without spiritual depth. The streak rewards itself, not the practice underneath it.

We are deeper.

Anti-positioning

YouVersion

A library, not a path. Passive reading, no progression, no sense of where you've been or where you're going.

We are guided.

03 · Manifesto

What we believe out loud.

English

Solomeh was born from a simple conviction: Scripture was meant to be lived, not checked off. For too many people, opening the Bible has become a burden. A duty that doesn't fit the day. A book that feels too far away.

We don't buy that. The problem was never the Word. It was the path to it.

Solomeh is built on an ancient Hebrew root: Shalom, peace and wholeness. The same word that gave the world Solomon, the wise king. The same word that named Salome, the disciple who followed Jesus to the end. Wisdom. Peace. Faithfulness. Three threads we weave together every day, in short journeys that fit into your life.

Five minutes at the kitchen table with coffee. Headphones on the train. A pause between meetings. That's all the room we need.

Here you don't study the Bible alone. There's progression, rhythm, and someone walking beside you, celebrating every step.

Because in the end, it's not about how many verses you read. It's about who you become along the way.

Português

Solomeh nasceu de uma convicção simples: a Bíblia foi feita pra ser vivida, não cumprida. Pra muita gente, abrir a Palavra virou peso.

04 · Visual Identity

The mark, in full.

A wordmark and a sigil. Together they carry the name and its meaning. Apart, each one stands. The wordmark for surfaces with room to breathe; the sigil for everywhere else.

Solomeh

Primary lockup · sigil and wordmark, together

The Wordmark

Solomeh
  • TypefaceFraunces · variable serif
  • Weight600 (semibold)
  • OpticalSOFT 100 · WONK 1
  • Tracking−0.04em
  • Color (light)Indigo Deep #1A2540
  • Color (dark)Ivory #FBF7ED

The WONK axis adds a subtle hand-drawn imperfection: the wordmark feels written, not printed.

The Sigil

  • Outer ringShalom · the unfinished pursuit
  • Middle ringSolomon · wisdom
  • Inner ringDevotion · the still point
  • Center dotPresence
  • Min size24px (digital)
  • FunctionApp icon · favicon · standalone mark

The dotted outer ring is intentional. Peace is something we keep approaching, never finish reaching.

Below these thresholds, line-weight collapses and the dotted outer ring loses legibility.

Application rules

Do

  • Use approved color combinations only: Olive, Amber, Indigo, Ivory.
  • Respect clearspace on every side, no exceptions.
  • Scale the lockup proportionally, sigil and wordmark together.
  • Pair the wordmark with photography only when there's calm negative space behind it.

Don't

  • Don't recolor the sigil rings outside the system palette.
  • Don't stretch, skew, rotate, or distort the lockup.
  • Don't separate sigil and wordmark when both are visible at the same scale.
  • Don't place the mark on busy or low-contrast backgrounds.
  • Don't add effects: outer glow, drop shadow, gradient fill, embossment.
  • Don't pair with crosses, doves, flames, halos, or any saturated Christian iconography.

07 · Typography

A serif that thinks. A sans that listens.

Fraunces carries the brand with serif weight, never academic stiffness. Plus Jakarta Sans carries the day-to-day with warm legibility. Together they earn restraint.

Marketing taglines

The Bible in five minutes a day. No pressure, no guilt.

It's not about how many verses you read. It's about who you become.

The shortest path to Scripture is the one that fits your day.

09 · Next Steps

Five steps to v1 launch.

João, this is your scope. The brand decisions are made. Your job is execution + craft.

  1. Reserve all social handles today

Verify and claim @solomeh (or @solomeh.app fallback) on Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Threads. Cost zero, blindagem total. No content needed yet, just ownership.

  2. Sketch 5 variations of Direction A

Wordmark + sigil. Vary the sigil's geometry: 2-ring, 3-ring, 4-ring, dotted vs solid, breathing animation. Keep wordmark Fraunces 600 with SOFT 100, WONK 1.

  3. Reverse image search every sketch

Before any sketch leaves the file, run it through Google Images and TinEye. If it returns >70% similar to any Christian app, redesign. This is the FaithFlow lesson.

  4. Side-by-side comparison with top 10 apps

Hallow, Glorify, YouVersion, Abide, Pray.com, Bible Lens, First5, Echo Prayer, Lectio 365, Bible.is. Solomeh's app icon must look distinct in this lineup at 60×60px.

  5. Trademark clearance before Play Store submit

USPTO + INPI + EUIPO already cleared by name. Before submission, pay $200 to $500 for a professional TM clearance search on the final logo. Defensive cost. Minimal vs another rejection.

"It's not about how many verses you read. It's about who you become along the way."
